During the first 2020 Covid-19 lockdown in the UK, I read "Beneath the World a Sea" by Chris Beckett. The novel features a region on earth called the Zona del Olvido. Once you pass out of the Zona all the memories of what you experienced within it are wiped. You remember nothing of those days, weeks, months, or years which you spent within, anything that you did, saw, or felt is lost. It struck me as a strangely unsettling metaphor for those lost days and weeks of lockdown. Apart from watching "Tiger King", people seem to struggle to remember much about those months of time inside when one day blurred into the next. I wrote ZONA based on that metaphor, a concept album of a sort, a soundtrack to a journey into this strange region.
